Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, a private island resort in the British Virgin Islands, has announced several major changes to the its culinary offerings, including two newly rebranded restaurants, Cardamom & Co. and Donovan’s Reef Marina Bar & Grill.
The resort’s new signature restaurant, Cardamom & Co., has enhanced its menu with the local flavors of the Caribbean. With outdoor lounge seating and views of the marina and neighboring islands, Cardamom & Co. now offers a variety of new dinner options, from fresh seafood specialties such as 10 Spice Seared Snapper and Fresh Lobster Tail, to Cardamom Roasted Duck Breast and Fig Glazed Rack of Lamb. Sides include Toasted Sesame Rice, Aromatic Stir Fry Vegetables, Coconut & Peanut Whipped Potatoes, and Chickpea Fried Onion Rings. The restaurant also offers appetizers, like the Pork Belly Satay, Glass Noodle Spring Rolls, Coconut Calabaza Soup, Seared Foie Gras and Pan Roasted Scallops. Dinner service at Cardamom is available seven days a week from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
The resort’s open-air restaurant, Donovan’s Reef Marina Bar & Grill, has similarly unveiled new menus featuring daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. Available from 7 to 11 a.m., breakfast favorites on the menu include Continental Breakfast, Caribbean Shrimp & Grits, Nutty Banana Pancakes, Island Oatmeal and more. Guests can now start their day with an assortment of hand-crafted breakfast cocktails such as the Caribbellini, with Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur, Cointreau, Peach, Orange, Prosecco and Cherry; the Bayside Mimosa, with Prosecco, Blue Curacoa, Pineapple Juice and Orange; and the Bloody Marianna, with Absolut Vodka, Cruzan Rum, Basil, Cucumber, Mint, Tomato and Lime. For lunch, guests can choose from items like the Scrub Island Burger, Curry Chicken Wrap, Caribbean Shrimp Po’ Boy and Fish & Chips. Lunch service is available from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donovan’s dinner menu features BBQ Baby Back Ribs, Pasta Pomodoro, Chicken Roti, Shrimp Curry, Yellowfin Tuna, Coconut Rum Grouper, Caribbean Pumpkin Soup and more. Dinner at Donovan’s is served from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Scrub Island also offers casual and secluded dining at One Shoe Beach Bar & Grill. Located on North Beach, One Shoe features a private pool with casual, beach-side fare. Guests can also find on-the-go items at the resort’s Gourmet Market & Café located in Marina Village. The Café offers a deli menu with fresh fruit salad, made-to-order sandwiches and pizzas and a wide assortment of provisions – including coffee and baked goods – plus deli meats and cheeses, snacks, sweets, premium wines and liquor.
