Starwood Makes Moves in Mexico and Panama

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has unveiled new developments in Latin America.

Earlier this week the company opened the doors of the first Le Méridien hotel in Mexico City with the opening of Le Méridien Mexico City.

The hotel sits in the heart of the city's financial and cultural district at Paseo de la Reforma. The property features 160 rooms (all suites), which have views of the skyline. There is also a fitness center, pool and restaurant C'est la Vie, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

True to trends as of late, Le Méridien Mexico City is making its lobby a social hub, aptly named Le Méridien Hub. The Hub offers guests and locals a spot to sit and socialize, complete with large-scale artwork.

Further south in Panama, the newly opened Westin Playa Bonita, Panama has debuted a state-of-the-art full-service Sensory Spa by Clarins. The new spa features the Aquabella Hydrothermal Wellness Circuit, which delivers hot and cold experiences that stimulate circulation and cleanse the skin.

Guests can visit the Amethyst Crystal Steam Room, one of the Hydrotherapy Vitality pools or Herbal Sauna, visit the Pediluvia foot massage stream and then cool down in a cold plunge pool or in one of the Raindance Rainmaker Experience Showers.

The facility features 16 treatment rooms, a beauty salon and fitness center. The spa overlooks two pools with waterfalls and view of the Pacific.
