Starwood Hotels & Resorts has released plans for its new extended stay product, dubbed Project ESW (Extended Stay by Westin). The upper upscale brand will incorporate signature Westin elements, such as the Heavenly Bed and Bath and Westin Workout Powered by Reebok. All properties will be new-builds with urban-inspired studios and one-bedroom suites. All Project ESWs will have large kitchens with stainless steel appliances, gourmet pantries with local wines and micro-brews, functional lobbies and landscaped terraces and pool areas. Properties will also be smoke-free. The first hotel will open in Lexington, MA in late 2007 followed by San Francisco. More than 150 markets have been targeted as potential locations for the brand.
