|St. Regis Rome's Royal Suite|
Properties around the world are offering up unique and luxurious suite accommodations, both in bustling cities and tropical destinations. The offerings provide guests looking to be pampered with a variety of options. Here, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most notable luxury suites that travelers should keep in mind when seeking an opulent stay.
Resplendent Suites in the Heart of Rome
The St. Regis Rome offers several different styles of suites for guests pining for luxury suite accommodations in the heart of the Eternal City.
The Designer Suite (No. 123) at The St. Regis Rome is decorated in contemporary neutrals and is furnished with antiques and Rome-themed paintings by local emerging artists. The one bedroom suite can be connected to adjacent Royal Suite in order to enlarge the combined space with up to three bedrooms, and has a large shower and a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and a walk-in closet.
The aforementioned Royal Suite (No. 131) affords traditional decor with nearly 4,000 square feet of space including a large living room, a dining room with marble table, a private wine cellar, a library and a private kitchen with outside door. The shower can almost be called a room by itself, and there are two dressing rooms off the master bedroom. Previous guests who have stayed in the Royal Suite include The Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga, among others.
Other suites of note at the St. Regis Rome include the Bottega Veneta (No. 431), a corner suite decorated with woven leather identified with the Bottega Veneta brand, and the three-bedroom Couture Suite overlooking the Fountain of Najadi near the Piazza della Repubblica. Junior Suite No. 326 is also a comfortable stay, with a sitting area, large bathroom, master bedroom and, as is included with all suites at the St. Regis Rome, the services of a private butler.
Also located in Rome, Hotel d’Inghilterra’s Penthouse Suite situated on the property’s sixth floor provides guests with a large living room, dining room with working fireplace and a spacious 2,150-square-foot terrace overlooking the rooftops of Rome, from the Villa Medici to the Vittorio Emanuele. There are two bathrooms, one bedroom and a study. It is also possible to have certain spa services, such as massages, in the suite.
The property’s Villa La Cupola Suite was upgraded to the tune of 8 million euros in 2015, including a high-tech revamp. The suite is reached by a private elevator to the sixth floor, providing the utmost privacy for those arriving via the diplomatic entrance. Situated throughout two floors, the suite can be arranged with up to seven bedrooms, with marble bathrooms for each. There is a round living room with a frescoed domed ceiling, a library, wine cellar, dining room, sauna and kitchen. Additionally, there is a private cinema room, a private spa, a private gym and a wrap-around terrace that overlooks the American Embassy, the Via Veneto and the rooftops of Rome.
Another option, The Imperial Suite, is located on the first floor and can be one or two bedrooms. Accommodations include an Empire design and many antiques original to the hotel. There is also a large living room and a raised dining area. A kitchen offers an ideal set up for VIP guests who wish to bring their own chef.
The Excelsior’s Veneto Suite (No. 308) is another option. The space is decorated in reds and greens, along with art by emerging young artists. There is also a Jacuzzi and separate shower in the marble bathroom, with an additional bathroom if another bedroom is connected.
For a true taste of the “high life”, the Rome Cavalieri (Waldorf Astoria) sits atop Monte Mario and is the only resort property within the official limits of Rome, offering suites that overlook the entire city.
The 2,500-square-foot Penthouse on the eighth and ninth floors has four balconies, Andy Warhol printings, wines chosen from the hotel’s 50,000-bottle cellar, an emotional shower and chromotherapy, a whirlpool, a private gym and a 2,700-square-foot private roof garden with Jacuzzi that affords views of the landscape.
In addition, the suite can be extended to include another bedroom. For tech amenities, there are three large screen HD TVs, Wi-Fi, independent phone lines and integrated security system.
Added bonus: Guests staying in the Penthouse have access to a chauffeured Bentley.
Other suite accommodations include the Corner Cavalieri Suite (No. 401-403) designed with separate living rooms and bedrooms, a foyer, a balcony and one bathroom with a separate shower and tub. One of the property’s four Vista Suites, (No. 845), is especially spacious and is furnished with dark woods. The space can also connect to the Petronius Suite, allowing the option for more than 5,000 square feet of living space. The Planetarium Suite is a slightly smaller version of the Penthouse Suite, located at the other end of the hotel.
