W Announces Midwest and Mideast Hotels

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open W hotels in Minneapolis and Amman, Jordan. The former, to be situated in Minneapolis' Foshay Tower, is scheduled to debut in late 2008--perhaps in time for the Republican National Convention the first week of September--with 229 rooms, including 18 suites. The 280-room W Amman is scheduled to open in 2011 and will be the fourth W hotel in the Middle East, along with the W Doha, Qatar, W Dubai-Festival City and W Dubai-The Palm.
