Don Cooper has been named as the new president of Brendan Vacations effective October 19, replacing Gary Murphy who has decided to leave Brendan in order to join his father at AMA Waterways. Murphy will be leaving the company on October 15, according to an announcement by Richard Launder, president of TravCorp USA.
“Brendan Vacations has been a part of the TravCorp portfolio of brands for the past three years and throughout that time Gary has made a tremendous contribution to the success of not only Brendan but also to the sister brands within the group," said Launder. "He has been a great team player and we are sorry to see him go. As a colleague and friend we all wish Gary the best as he makes this career change."
Cooper takes on his new role with over 25 years of travel and tourism industry experience, his most recent position being managing director of Australian specialist FIT operator, New Horizons Holidays, also a TravCorp company. “I am excited to be taking on this role and continuing the legacy built by the Murphy family," Cooper said. "I look forward to leading the company through its next stage, incorporating state of the art and user friendly technology using iTropics and iNavigate for escorted vacations and i-navigate for independent vacations. We have an ideal balance of experienced and new staff on the Brendan team and I am very motivated to be able to lead them with all of the opportunities out there for us."

Currently Brendan operates escorted vacations (Europe, North America, South America, South Pacific, Ireland and Britain) and collectively offering over 200 different tours as well as independent vacations (Europe, South America, South Pacific, Asia, Ireland and Britain) with more than 2000 hotels available.
Earlier this year Brendan migrated their entire FIT product line onto a new platform allowing consolidation from three operating systems to one. This has represented a huge efficiency for the company and most importantly for their travel agency partners in terms of booking live inventory both through the call center and online, the company said.
