Tee Times and Rates Announced for Poipu Bay Golf Course

Poipu Bay Golf Course, on Kauai’s south shore, is now accepting reservations for play beginning with its reopening date of December 16. The course has been closed since April 1 to undergo a comprehensive greens refurbishment project, replacing the original Tifdwarf Bermuda grass with a Sea Shore Paspalum hybrid (Supreme) that, we hear, is "an optimum putting surface" in Hawaii.

Tee times for visitors are available up to 30 days in advance of play. The course has announced its rates for the coming year, starting with a Standard fee of $240 for prime tee times. For afternoon tee times (12 noon to 2:20 pm), the fee is $145; and the Twilight rate (play starting after 2:30 pm, ending by 6 pm) is $85. Rates include shared golf cart with GPS and warm-up range balls prior to play. Discounted Standard and Afternoon rates are available to guests of the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. Junior golfers, age 17 and under, receive 50% off the applicable adult rate, when accompanied by an adult player. For complete rates and on-line tee time arrangements, visit www.poipubaygolf.com/rates.html.

When the course reopens on December 16, the restaurant at the clubhouse will also reopen, and hours at Poipu Bay’s award-winning Golf Shop, which has been operating on a limited schedule, will be restored to 6:30 am-6:00 pm daily.

A Robert Trent Jones, Jr. design, Poipu Bay opened in 1991 and gained international recognition as home to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994 through 2006. The 18-hole course is situated on 210 oceanfront acres adjacent to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa and has, over the years, been consistently ranked among the top 100 resort courses in the U.S.
