Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has dubbed October National Plan a Cruise Month, and cruise lines are celebrating with a host of offers for clients and incentives for travel agents.
During National Plan a Cruise Month, several cruise lines have announced offers to entice vacation planners to book a cruise, CLIA said. Promotions range from offers as high as $1,500 off per couple on a popular river cruise to free upgrades, onboard spending money and even signature beverage packages valued at $1,400. To take advantage of the National Plan a Cruise Month cruise line deals and promotions as well as the expertise from travel agents, CLIA is promoting certified cruise specialists at cruising.org/cruise-vacationer/plan-a-cruise/clia-agent-finder.
#CruiseSmile – A Chance to Win One of 31 Cruise Vacations
Additionally, CLIA is launching #CruiseSmile, which offers travelers the chance to win one of 31 cruise vacations from 23 different cruise lines awarded each day from October 1 through October 31, 2015. Anyone can enter each day during the sweepstakes by submitting a photo featuring a "cruise smile" at CruiseSmile.org, or posting their "cruise smile" on Twitter or Instagram using #CruiseSmile and #Sweepstakes. Participants will have the opportunity to share their posts for more chances to win.
Carnival Offers Travel Agents a Chance to Win a Free Cruise
Carnival Cruise Line is hosting a National Plan a Cruise Month contest for travel agents, offering them a chance to win one of 30 free cruises aboard the new Carnival Vista and a special month-long group booking promotion.
Through October 31, the "See the Carnival Vista Cruise Giveaway" will offer travel agents a chance to win one of 30 cruises aboard the new Carnival Vista, which is set to debut next spring, for every individual booking made during the month of October. Bookings must be made during the October 1-31, 2015, to qualify for the promotion and winners will receive a cruise for two in a balcony stateroom on Carnival Vista. All qualified bookings must be submitted via a special section on GoCCL.com.
Through the line’s group sales promotion, initial deposits are waived on select group cruises and agents can earn one free berth for every 10 full fare guests berthed (compared to the current policy of one free berth for every 15 full fare guests) on all voyages included in the promotion period. The offer is available on a wide variety of sailings between March 1, 2016 and April 30, 2017.
Additionally, for National Plan a Cruise Month Carnival is providing consumers with Early Saver rates plus a $50 per stateroom shipboard credit throughout the month of October on select sailings. In addition, throughout October, Carnival is offering Early Saver rates plus a $100 per stateroom shipboard credit on all of Carnival Vista’s 2016 European voyages.
MSC Cruises Offers Deals on MSC Divina
At MSC Cruises, the line is offering guests who book a Caribbean 2016-2017 cruise on MSC Divina up to $600 shipboard credit, plus additional beverage and dining packages, depending on the category of stateroom booked. The shipboard credit can be used on a variety of onboard items including spa treatments, specialty restaurants or shore excursions.
As an added bonus for families, the deal also includes Kids Sail Free on popular family travel dates, such as President Week/Spring Break (February 13, 2016); Memorial Day (May 28, 2016); School Ending (June 11 and June 18); and Labor Day (September 3, 2016). Additional dates apply.
MSC Cruises’ National Plan a Cruise Month deal is available until November 15, 2015.
