Bermuda to Host America's Cup

Bermuda has recently been selected as the host of the 35th America's Cup in 2017. The high-profile global event is anticipated to significantly impact Bermuda's tourism industry, beginning with the America's Cup World Series event in October of 2015 through to the America's Cup Finals events in 2017. 

New Full Service Marina Accommodates Super Yachts

Bermuda's only full-service marina with integrated pump-out facilities, custom metered electric service and water distribution, located at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess, recently opened in September. The marina features 60 berths, ranging in size to accommodate a variety of boats from smaller tournament fishing boats to super yachts. Additionally, on the heels of the America's Cup announcement, the owners of the Fairmont Hamilton Princess announced they will be investing an additional $1 million into the property's two penthouse suites.

New Ariel Sands Hotel Begins Construction

Actor Michael Douglas and Bermuda officials broke ground on the $85 million redevelopment of Ariel Sands Hotel Cottage Colony, a new luxury resort featuring 85 rooms located in 33 cottages and six suites, which is set for completion in 2017.

New Eateries

The Bermuda culinary scene continues to flourish with the opening of three new restaurants around the island as well as the launch of a local ice cream line named Alex & Pete's Bermuda Artisan Ice Cream, featuring Bermuda-inspired flavors, such as St. George's Black Rum and Ginger and St. David's Black Rum & Raisin.

Bermuda Resorts Get Makeovers

A number of hotels and resorts are receiving multi-million dollar renovations and upgrades, including Elbow Beach Bermuda Resort's three newly-renovated meeting rooms and Fairmont Hamilton Princess' construction of the Princess Beach Club.
