MasterCard has announced two new programs to boost luxury travel. The financial giant will add more luxury hotels and resorts, more than 1,000 properties worldwide, and it will expand its Priceless Cities program to 36 cities by the end of 2014.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2015, MasterCard says it will expand its Luxury Hotels & Resorts Portfolio to include more than 1,000 properties for World and World Elite MasterCard cardholders.

New properties to be added include minimalist and boutique brands, such as: Karisma, Couples, Hard Rock, Dorchester, Doyle, Kempinski, Millennium and Copthorne, Morgans, Oberoi, Supranational, Viceroy and Wyndham properties.

MasterCard also reports its Priceless Cities platform will be marketed in 53 countries, allowing global travelers access to 500 options and more than 500 local offers by year's end. Recently added destinations include Munich, Las Vegas and Hawaii with Riviera Maya, and Tokyo being added by December 2014.

In addition to four and five star properties, the new locations also meet traveler demands for accommodations in the most visited cities, like London and Bangkok, MasterCard says, along with Paris, Singapore and Dubai
