Ritz-Carlton Appoints Herve Humler President, COO

Herve HumlerThe Ritz-Carlton, Marriott International, Inc. announced Herve Humler as president and COO to replace Simon F. Cooper, now the hotel's new president and managing director for Asia Pacific. One of the original founders of the Ritz-Carlton brand in 1983, Humler's roles have included global chief operations officer and head of the brand's international region.

In his new position, Humler will be in charge of the brand's operations, global growth and service culture. This will include overseeing 76 hotels in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean and the opening of more than 30 new hotel and residential projects currently underway. Based in Chevy Chase, MD, Humler will also manage Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, reporting to Robert J. McCarthy, Marriott International group president.

Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Humler held senior management positions with Hyatt Hotels, Intercontinental Hotels and The Princess Hotel in Bermuda, after receiving his degree in hotel management from The Hotel School in Nice, France.
