Mexico will get a boost in accommodations over the next few years as Marriott International has plans to operate 20 hotels across Mexican cities by 2016. The first six hotels will add about 800 rooms to the Mexican market.
Marriott is teaming up with FibraHotel to develop the properties. FibraHotel has a portfolio of 49 business hotels in 22 Mexican states. Marriott’s focus on hotel development prompted the company to open a development office in Mexico City.
The pipeline of properties will include the 124-room Los Cabos, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve; the 300-room JW Marriott Cabo San Lucas Resort; the 130-room Courtyard by Marriott Hermosillo; the 130-room Courtyard by Marriott Los Cabos; the 120-room Fairfield Inn Queretaro; the 140-room Courtyard by Marriott Queretaro; and the 160-room AC Hotel Mexico City.
