On May 3, on the occasion of a U.S. Tour Operators fam trip including Travelocity, Orbitz, CheapCaribbean, Hotel Beds and Spanning the Globe, the Martinique Tourism Authority organized a meeting with local partners such as hoteliers and ground operators to ease the communication process and maximize the distribution of Martinique tourist offer within the U.S. market.

Local participants included representatives from five-star Relais et Chateaux Cap Est Lagoon Resort and Spa, four-star M’Gallery Bakoua, four-star La Suite Villa, three-star Karibea Resorts, three-star La Villa Saint-Pierre Boutique Hotel, three-star Cap Macabou Hotel, Madinina Tours and Carib Recept (ground operators).

This meeting, conducted by Mrs. Roy Camille (newly appointed president of the Martinique Tourism Authority) and Muriel Wiltord (director Americas of the Martinique Promotion Bureau), aimed to ensure the reinforcement of a strong working relationship between the different actors in order to maximize visibility and sells.

Participants agreed on the necessity of such a meeting and found it to be very useful and concrete.  A stronger and more effective distribution should be the main result of this meeting in the upcoming months.

“We are very excited with the new developments of tourism in Martinique,” said Wiltord. “These meetings between our private sector and representatives of the US industry were most valuable, allowing the implementation of a “hands on” and mutually beneficial relationship for both parties.”
