Mountain Lodges of Peru Launches Deal, Value Adds for Machu Picchu Trek

The Festival of the Sun - one of Peru's largest festivals - marks the beginning of a new year and is held annually during the winter solstice. In celebration of the festival, Mountain Lodges of Peru has announced an exclusive offer for travelers on The Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, , as well as a an added selection of activities along the trek. 

Travelers who book The Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu for select dates around the celebration can take advantage of 15 percent off the top price (per person, based on double occupancy). Plus, these activities have been added to the trek: 

  • Pachamama ceremony at Lake Humantay
  • Inka Cosmovision workshop
  • Coca leaves lecture
  • Superfood/organic meals workshop

The seven-day itinerary highlights include hiking Lake Humantay, crossing the Salkantay Pass, zip-lining, hiking the Santa Teresa River Valley, exploring the Llactapata Pass, and ultimately visiting Machu Picchu. Each day’s trek ends with accommodations in a lodge, complemented by a massage or a dip in an outdoor jacuzzi, followed by a gourmet meal with select wines.

Guests can choose to spend an extra day in Machu Picchu for $395 per person. The option includes one additional night at the Inkaterra Pueblo Hotel with dinner on day seven, breakfast and lunch on day eight, bus tickets to/from the site, entrance tickets to the sanctuary, and transfer back to Cusco from Ollantaytambo
