The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) has announced several staffing changes, including the addition of Kim Sherrett from Nexion, and the promotions of Karen Morris and Erika Richter.
Sherrett joined ASTA on Monday, November 14, as manager of membership and chapter development. In this role, she will grow ASTA membership and facilitate chapter development. Sherrett brings to ASTA more than 20 years of industry experience, most recently as manager, business development and education at Nexion.
The ASTA is also announcing two internal staff promotions.
Morris has been promoted to director of meetings & events, where she will continue to work with the newly-combined ASTA and NACTA business development team. And in an effort to raise consumer awareness regarding the value of travel agents, Richter has been promoted to director of communications. In her new role, she will be responsible for the development and execution of the communications portion of ASTA’s mission to promote and defend ASTA member agents before the traveling public, at all levels of government and within the travel industry.
