Travel Guard Parent Launches New Chartis Brand

IU Holdings, a subsidiary of American International Group (AIG), and parent of Travel Guard, a leading travel insurance provider, has announced a new brand called Chartis. The move is part of a continuing effort for AIU to become independent of AIG. The company also announced the appointment of Kristian P. Moor as its president and CEO.

Spokesmen for the company said there is no change to the Travel Guard brand. Consideration is being given as to how Travel Guard may incorporate Chartis in its future marketing and communication programs. Chartis, headquartered in New York, is a global insurance company with a combined surplus of $32.1 billion worldwide at year-end 2008. Chartis serves more than 40 million clients in over 160 countries and jurisdictions.
