Journeys Within Launches Exploration of Myanmar

Myanmar is about to explode as a Southeast Asian destination. On the heels of last week's announcement that Khiri Travel would be opening a Myanmar base, Journeys Within Tour Company and Ray of Hope Expeditions announced that they are partnering up to offer a unique tour to Myanmar.

The two-week trip, led by regional expert Andrea Ross and marine biologist Dr. Andrea Marshall will spend one week exploring the highlights of Myanmar and then one week diving in its archipelago.

Myanmar (formerly Burma) is plagued with a troubled past full of bloodshed and conflict, so for it to emerge as a peaceful and rising tourism destination is monumental news.

This 14-day trip includes on-land highlights such as Schwedagon Pagoda, the Bagan temples, Inle Lake and a visit to a Journeys Within sponsored community project. At sea divers will stay on the Diva Andaman and will visit the Burma Banks, Richeliu Rock and see the manta rays.

The tour runs from February 25 through  March 9, 2012. The cost is $6,840 sharing a double or twin room and a single supplement cost is available on request.
