Classic Vacations has named Greg Bernd and David Hu as co-presidents. Bernd and Hu step into their new roles as former Classic Vacations president Tim MacDonald leaves to lead a sister company.

Classic is mum as to which company that may be, however, its parent-company portfolio does contain Expedia and Hotels.com.

Classic is widely known for the high level of service it delivers to FIT clients. Its markets are Hawaii, Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, Costa Rica and the South Pacific. It sells exclusively through travel agents.

Bernd most recently served as vice president of sales, and celebrates his 25th year at Classic Vacations in 2009. He will continue to focus on customer and consortia relationships.  David Hu has held the position of CFO and vice president of business operations since 2006 and will oversee all internal operations.

“I am thrilled to hand the reins over to two proven and accomplished leaders, “said MacDonald, who can be credited with leading Classic through huge technology initiatives over the past year, as well as re-establishing vital relationships with Virtuoso and Signature.  “Classic has significantly improved its position in the marketplace thanks to Greg, David and the rest of the executive team.  Under their leadership, we can expect even greater things to come.”

According to Hu, Classic Vacations continues to make significant investments that will even further enhance the satisfaction of travel agents and their customers.  “Our highest priority is addressing the needs of the travel professional,” said Hu.  “Our success is dependent on their success.”
