Ritz-Carlton's Georgia Kirsner to Retire

Georgia Kirsner, vice president of travel industry and emerging markets for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, announced today that she will retire in February after a 20-year career in travel industry sales.

Throughout her career, Kirsner has distinguished herself as an advocate for travel agents. Forbes Life Executive Woman magazine named her one of the 25 "Most Influential Women in Travel," and yours truly, Travel Agent magazine presented her with the "100 Most Powerful Women in Travel" award three times.

Her career began at The Ritz-Carlton in Naples in 1990. Five years later, she joined the corporate staff as vice president-travel industry. She also built travel agent relationships in emerging markets such as South America, Russia and India.

Kirsner's plans post retirement are to develop a freelance consulting business specializing in travel industry sales and marketing. She will be based in Bethesda, MD.
