Riviera River Cruises Hires Dana Griffin as Director of Sales for New U.S. Office

Riviera River Cruises has hired Dana Griffin as the director of sales at the company’s new U.S. national sales office in Fairfield, Connecticut, where she will oversee four regional sales representatives.

As the United Kingdom-based river cruise operator expands to the United States, Griffin is also tasked with building awareness of the brand in the travel agent community and placing it on preferred vendor lists of travel management companies.

Griffin has four decades of experience in the travel management industry, and she has a background in a number of areas, including management and operations, business consulting, training development, and account and project management.

Her previous experience includes seven years with Valerie Wilson Travel in New York City as director of operation, standards and process and 12 years with HRG North America in Stamford, Connecticut, as vice president/director of operations.

“I’m excited to be working with Riviera River Cruises as it enters the U.S. market,” Griffin said. “My years of experience in sales, operations, management, business development and training will be helpful as we grow the business and promote the brand.”

“We’re happy to have Dana on board with Riviera River Cruises, and her long-time connections in the industry will open doors for selling our river cruise product in the U.S.,” said Jana Tvedt, vice president at Riviera River Cruises’ U.S. office.

In her long career, Griffin said she was especially proud of her work hiring, training, and retaining staff talent; starting, improving, and growing divisions at agencies; maintaining connection at travel management companies; becoming a top producer with sales in excess of $25 million; and serving as a member of the Marriott and Trump Hotel collection advisory boards.
