Vail Resorts has announced the promotion of two internal candidates to lead the newly-created regional sales and marketing team that will handle the company’s properties in Vail and Beaver Creek, CO and Jackson Hole, YW. Pete Hayda has been appointed the regional director of sales and marketing, and Marcella Bettis has been appointed the director of marketing.
Hayda has over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, and was most recently serving as area director of sales and marketing for the RockResorts Vail Collection, where he was overseeing the following properties since 2009: The Arrabelle at Vail Square, A RockResort; The Lodge at Vail, A RockResort; The Austria Haus; and The Vail Marriott. Prior to this role, Hayda spent 15 years working with Marriott International Corporation. In his role as director of sales and marketing for the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay his team was awarded the Marriott International Sales Team of the Year in 2005.
Bettis has been with Vail Resorts for the past 19 years. She has served as area director of sales and marketing for Beaver Creek and the Hotel Jerome
in Aspen, CO since 2008. She was director of sales and marketing for Beaver Creek Resort Properties/Vail Resorts Inc. since 1998. She began her
career with Vail Resorts as director of sales in Denver in 1991.
