Stuff.co.nz is reporting that Air New Zealand's planned route between Auckland and the Philippines has been delayed until further notice.

According to the report, Air New Zealand announced in early April that it would start direct flights to Manila, the capital of the Philippines. They were originally slated to launch in December.

However, according to the report, an Air New Zealand spokeperson said it was delaying the December launch "due to administrative delays in being able to make the new route available for sale.”

According to the report, this was the second Southeast Asian destination the airline announced it would fly to in the past year. In early June, the carrier began seasonal, three times per week service from Auckland to Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City.
