Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Balmoral, which is docked in Norfolk, VA, has asked seven guests to remain in their cabin due to a norovirus outbreak, NewsChannel 3 reports.
The ship left England on April 16 and arrived in Norfolk Thursday. As of Wednesday, 153 of the ship’s 917 passengers reported norovirus symptoms.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that the ship has responded by increasing cleaning and disinfection procedures onboard and sending a public health and sanitation manager from the cruise line’s corporate office to assist.
