Report: Fire Guts New Delhi's National Museum of Natural History (VIDEO)

A fire struck the National Museum of Natural History in New Delhi early Tuesday, the New York Times reports.

The building sustained major damage as the fire spread downward from the top floor. Most of the museum's major exhibits were destroyed, including potentially the 160-million-year-old bones of a dinosaur. Other exhibits that were lost included taxidermied specimens and models of ecosystems in the exhibition space.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
