Report: Minor Hotel Group to Launch Its Avani Brand in Australia

Perth, Australia

Travel Daily Asia is reporting that Bangkok-based hotel group Minor Hotel Group will launch its Avani brand in Australia with the addition of two new properties in Perth.

According to the report, Minor Hotel Group announced on Monday that it has been selected by Perth’s Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority to develop two sites in the Perth City Link project, following a competitive bidding process. It will now invest about $85 million developing the Avani Hotel and Avani Residences in the capital of Western Australia.

Minor entered Australia in 2011 with the acquisition of Oaks Hotels & Resorts, which it has since expanded to more than 50 properties. As of yet, however, Oaks does not have a presence in Perth.

According to the report, some details of the new Avanti Hotel in Perth have been revealed, including plans for a rooftop bar, outdoor bars and restaurants, and a public space for events at the front of the property. There will also be pedestrian walkway connecting this space to the Perth Arena.
