Report: New UNESCO World Heritage Sites?

Gadling reports the U.S. Department of the Interior is considering 13 new sites for application to the UNESCO World Heritage list, which currently features 936 sites of cultural significance around the world.

The sites under consideration include the San Antonio Missions in Texas, George Washington’s home at Mount Vernon, the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona and the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in Georgia.

The list is now open for public comment.
