The Westminster Council has approved plans for the 83-room Wellington Hotel, a new luxury boutique hotel project in London’s Covent Garden neighborhood backed by famous actor Robert De Niro, the Associated Press reports. Plans for the hotel, which is scheduled to open in 2019, also call for a spa, restaurant, private members’ club and retail space.

The hotel, which was announced back in May, will span a block of six adjacent buildings in the historic neighborhood. De Niro told the AP that the project would "honor the heritage of the area, while bringing the best of what we've done in New York to London." BD Hotels, which has partnered with De Niro on the project, opened the boutique Greenwich Hotel in Manhattan in 2008. The new hotel would be the first property for BD Hotels outside the U.S.
