Report: Royal Caribbean Crew Member Sentenced to 13 Months for Abusive Sexual Contact

A crew member from Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas has been sentence to 13 months in jail for "abusive sexual contact," Cruise Law News reports.

The crime, which took place onboard Quantum of the Seas during a sailing from Bayonne, New Jersey, last December, occurred when crew member Karan Seechurn used a master key card to sneak into a woman's cabin and molest her while she was sleeping. Seechurn was responsible for restocking the minibars in guest cabins. 

Seechurn, who faced up to three years in jail, received a sentence of 13 months, plus one year of supervised release.
