AMA Waterways Asks Agents to Name New Ship

AMA Waterways' La Marguerite

We reported in January that AMA Waterways was building a new riverboat to ply the Mekong river in Vietnam and Camboadia. Now, the river cruise line has announced its “Name our Ship and Win” contest, which invites travel agents to submit a name for the line's new ship on the Mekong. The winning entrant receives a seven-night river cruise for two.

AMA Waterways is constructing a second ship on the Mekong river as part of the line’s “Vietnam, Cambodia & the Riches of the Mekong” program. The as-yet-unnamed new build is expected to debut in  2011. When completed, the ship will join the ms La Marguerite in offering seven-day Mekong river cruises from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to Siem Reap, Cambodia and the reverse.

To increase the chances of winning the name contest, it is recommended that entries incorporate the line’s signature “AMA” prefix  (Amadagio, Amalegro, etc.), however all entries will be considered. Entries should be emailed to [email protected] by February 22, 2010.
