Activity Booking Company Musement Acquires Triposo

Musement, the tech startup company that allows users to find and book local tour and attractions, has announced the acquisition of travel content platform Triposo. Together, the platforms now have a base of more than 12 million users. Triposo CEO Nishank Gopalkrishnan will maintain his role and join Musement’s leadership team.

“Today’s news is a major milestone for Musement’s users and partners alike,” said Alessandro Petazzi, co-founder and CEO at Musement in a written statement. “Our vision is to build the best in-destination activities discovery and booking platform. Triposo’s machine learning technology, which serves hyper-personalized content to users, combined with Musement’s discovery and booking technology service for travel, are a natural fit. Through this partnership, we’re bringing an amazing team and cutting-edge technology in-house, significantly enhancing the overall experience for our users and creating new revenue opportunities for hundreds of local travel partners.”

Founded in 2013 in Milan, Italy by Paolo Giulini, Claudio Bellinzona, Alessandro Petazzi and Fabio Zecchini, Musement was created on the idea that while travelers book hotels, flights, and rental cars before departure, many don’t plan activities until after they arrive. Users can search for and book tours, get tickets to performances, buy museum and art passes, and more.

There are more than 10 million app download, with more than 40 percent coming from North American and Western Europe. The company offers activities in 200 countries, 50,000 destinations and  five million points of interest.

Triposo’s technology integration is expected to be completed in the next few months and will allow Musement to offer a more intuitive and personalized experience in real time. The integration means Musement will offer hyper-personalized travel content and booking options across multiple verticals and also across multiple touch-points; the B2C Musement and Triposo websites and apps, and the joint B2B APIs, which travel partners can integrate in their websites.
