Agency Seeks to Service Affinity Travel Market

Members Only Travel, Inc., (MOT) an affinity travel marketing company, has launched a recruitment campaign specifically directed to home-based travel agents, including custom web portals for  small, community-based affinity organizations, said Jim Tyner, president of Members Only Travel.

Tyner’s goal is to create a network of Account Manager Representatives who will acquire and manage affiliate relationships with nonprofit organizations of all types. The program allows home-based agents to sell travel to their clientele while establishing a portfolio of affiliate organizations on which they earn override commission based upon the travel sales volume generated by the membership of the affiliate organizations. The MOT program is based on its own technology expertise in conjunction with links to the Travel Impressions Quest booking engine and a special relationship with Travel Themes and Dreams for cruise booking technology and fulfillment.

"This program allows our independent contractors to leverage their skills and knowledge by creating accounts with affiliate organizations." said Tyner. "Those of us who have been in the retail travel business know that usually we have to wait for the phone to ring before we can go to work.  However, our representatives will be able to use all of their time to their advantage because this program is based upon their being proactive in contacting nonprofit groups and establishing affiliate relationships."

Because the job of the representatives is to establish affiliate relationships rather than to sell travel, MOT is also recruiting qualified individuals outside of the travel industry.  However, the company believes that home-based travel agents will possess a distinct advantage because they already have demonstrated the entrepreneurial spirit to operate in an independent environment and their overall understanding of the industry will help them be more fluent in conveying the value proposition to the affiliate organizations of earning shared revenue on the travel purchases of their members and constituents.

"In the continuously evolving world of travel service distribution, we have created a new twist on a proven methodology for travel marketing," Tyner said. "Any time we as travel agents can expand our client reach through new distribution channels we benefit. Members Only Travel offers a unique opportunity to the home-based travel agent community to build a new distribution channel while relying on their experience and expertise.”
