Amadeus has moved 75,000 hotels to its new distribution technology platform, OpenTravel Alliance XML. Through the new platform, hotels can be categorized by 100 different attributes, so agents can search for properties not only by a destination but also by features such as a swimming pool or hotels that appeal to families.
The technology company plans additional product enhancements in 2008. It is piloting a new user-interface, said to maximize the hotel selling process for agencies; a Best Available Rate program, which assures agencies hat Amadeus provides rates competitive with other distribution channels; and Amadeus Worldwide Commission Manager, a tool that tracks commissions owed to agents by participating hotels.
