Amadeus Offers Advice on Service Fees

Amadeus on Monday issued a whitepaper that offers solutions to the problem of zero commissions. The paper, entitled "Service Fees and Commission Cuts: Opportunities and Best Practices for Travel Agencies," begins with a history of commission caps and details how the reduced revenue is the number-one challenge facing agencies in sustaining their business. The second half of the paper focuses on agencies that have successfully implemented service fee models to make up for the loss in revenue, including such best practices as automating processes for charging fees to avoid errors and increase productivity and identifying the services customers see the highest value in and are willing to pay for.
