Amadeus Signs Agreement With UNIGLOBE Travel

Amadeus reports it has signed a five-year agreement with UNIGLOBE Travel, who lays claim to be the world’s largest single-brand travel agency franchise. The move provides content distribution services and IT solutions worldwide to UNIGLOBE, including 12 markets in Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.

This five-year contract renewal will extend UNIGLOBE TMC access to Amadeus inventory of 430 bookable airlines, over 110,000 hotel properties, 30 car rental companies, and 22 of the world’s cruise lines. The aim, Amadeus says, is to incentivize growth of bookings within the UNIGLOBE network both organically and internationally.

The agreement will cover India, Belgium, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Slovenia, and South Africa amongst other countries.

The two companies said they continue to work together as part of a long-term strategic technology partnership to offer specialized travel services to mid-sized corporate accounts and vacation travelers.

“UNIGLOBE clients will benefit from a truly global travel management program with full visibility of their travel costs," said Albert Pozo, vice president multinational business & corporate travel for Amadeus worldwide.

Amadeus has created a set of best-of-breed solutions specifically for customers in the franchise segment, Amadeus said, in response to a growing trend toward local and regional travel management companies worldwide networking on global accounts.

Martin Charlwood, UNIGLOBE president and chief operating officer, said, “Using Amadeus technology, we can continue to broaden our global industry presence while maintaining distinct customer service tailored to local markets across the 60 countries in which we do business. This partnership gives UNIGLOBE a sustainable competitive advantage in our endeavor to become the most dependable travel management company in the world.”
