American Seeks Codeshare With Indian Carrier

American Airlines has applied for authorization from the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin a codeshare agreement with India's Jet Airways. American would like to start codesharing operations on January 16 on Jet Airways flights to cities beyond Dubai, which American already serves nonstop from Chicago. Jet Airways, meanwhile, would place its code on certain American flights out of New York Kennedy. The two airlines also would codeshare and cooperate on air traffic between the U.S. and India that connects in Brussels. (JM)
