ARC Helix Highlights Risk Management

beachJeffrey Miller, veteran travel attorney, will be featured at  ARC’s next Helix symposium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Nov. 5-6. During his 90-minute workshop, Miller will cover risk management and best practices for travel agents, outlining – among other topics – various corporate structures for agencies, including liability and tax implications, state licensing and contracts.

The symposium, open to Helix members as well as those wishing to join the program, offers networking opportunities, industry insight, and best business practices to run a home-based or retail travel agency.

Additional industry leaders will share their knowledge and experience with attendees. Geoff Millar, co-owner of Ultimate All-Inclusive Travel, will discuss how agents can apply methods of Fortune 500 companies. Joanie Ogg, principal of Joanie Ogg Marketing Group, will emphasize the importance of travel professionals understanding their own selling personas and their buyers’ personas.

Symposium attendees are also be invited to a full day at Carnival Cruise Lines’ corporate headquarters in nearby Doral, Fla. Product updates, sales training, lunch, and a tour of the company’s headquarters are part of the agenda during the visit, ARC reports. ARC's “Supplier Speed Dating Roundabout” will give attendees a chance to connect one-on-one with each of the 14 Helix preferred suppliers.
