The Airline Reporting Corporation (ARC) reported a 10.5 percent increase in total sales for Feb. 08 totaling $7.2 billion, an 8.3 percent increase over Feb. 07. Year to date sales total $14.3 billion. Average daily sales per location were $12,706 with 18,151 locations and 1,386 STP locations reporting.
ARC also reported a decline in domestic transactions by 0.72 percent to 10.04 million compared to Feb 07 with a 2.7 percent decline year to date. Total air transactions were up 1.6 percent to 13.6 million. International transactions were up 8.7 percent to 3.6 million. International fares were up 16.9 percent to $2.9 billion and domestic fares increased 4.4 percent to $3.2 billion. Taxes and fees increased 13.2 percent to $947 million for the month.
