The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) has announced that Arne Sorenson, president and CEO of Marriott International, Inc., will attend ASTA’s Global Convention for an interview with Peter Greenberg, a multiple Emmy-winning investigative reporter, producer and travel journalist.
Set to take place at the Peppermill Resort Hotel in Reno Tahoe, Nevada from September 25-28, the annual event will bring together travel agents from across the country to address the question of disruption versus innovation within the industry.
“I’m excited to join ASTA’s Global Convention and have the opportunity to emphasize the importance of the relationship between Marriott and the ASTA travel agent community," said Sorenson. “I look forward to speaking to and hearing from agents at this year’s ASTA Global Convention.”
Earlier this year, ASTA commended Marriott for offering new loyalty member rates to clients who book through Marriott channels, as well as through “select corporate accounts and travel agent partners.”
