America's Vacation Center (AVC) said the company will commit another $1 million to assist the travel agency community as a part of its Travel Agent Stimulus Plan. AVC launched the Travel Agent Stimulus Plan in March 2009 to assist professional sellers of travel, including current home-based, store-front, or call center travel agents who join AVC. The move decreased the startup costs for professionals to launch their own travel agency by 80 percent.
The plan also includes a pledge by AVC to significantly increase its consumer marketing to generate Live Leads, which are the primary source of bookings for its current network. Live Leads are available for new Independent Affiliates to grow their businesses. AVC said the initial $1 million has already been spent in part to produce these Live Leads. A considerable amount of the additional $1 million will be allocated to generate more sales and commissions.
