Banyan Tree Unveils New GDS Code, Agent Promotion

Beginning September 27, agents can book the first 10 of 16 Banyan Tree Hotel & Resorts using the hotelier's new code, "BY." In 2008, the remaining six properties will convert to the code. These include Banyan Tree Bintan, Angsana Resort & Spa Great Barrier Reef and Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel, as well as properties currently under construction: Banyan Tree Sanya, Hainan; Banyan Tree Ungasan; and Angsana Hotel & Suites Dubai.

The company said the launch of the new GDS code would streamline the booking process for agents. Helpfully, Banyan Tree's tagline is "Just BY," and too, BY collectibles will be distributed to agents in the forms of postcards, note pads and signature Banyan Tree sand turtles. What's more, agents who use the new code through March 31, 2008, will be entered to win a three-night stay at any Banyan Tree or Angsana hotel. A monthly top booker prize also is planned for the agency with the most number of reservations under the new code. Visit [banyantree.com/gds-by-campaign.html].
