Bowman Wins NTA Volunteer of the Year Award

Barb Bowman of the Grand Junction, Colorado, Visitor and Convention Bureau received the NTA Volunteer of the Year Award at the NTA Annual Convention in Pittsburgh. An NTA member for nearly 20 years, Bowman was selected for consistently demonstrating the leadership and dedication that makes a great volunteer, the NTA said.

"Barb has made outstanding contributions to the association, and she is always there for her colleagues," said NTA Chairman and CEO Bob Hoelscher. "Barb was nominated for the NTA Volunteer of the Year Award due to her unselfish work and enthusiasm for NTA. She, and individuals like her, ensure the associations overall success and we are extremely grateful for her commitment and genuine passion for NTA."

Bowman served as the chairman of the 2006 NTA Annual Convention in Salt Lake City. Among her other contributions to the association she has served on a variety of NTA committees, including the Government Relations Committee, the Education Committee and the Research and Development Committee. She currently serves as the chair of NTA's Tracking Task Force.
