The Dominican Republic’s Enrique De Marchena Kaluche
officially assumed the role of president of the Caribbean Hotel
Association (CHA) today, from now through 2010. De Marchena Kaluche took the
stage Sunday at the Annual Caribbean Tourism Summit and told attendees he vowed “to listen to [his]
constituents and get the best advice possible from the past presidents
based on their own experience, their knowledge of the history of this
association and the tourism sector in the Caribbean.” De Marchena
Kaluche, who takes over for Peter J. Odle, noted that “We have
taken the first steps to increase and strengthen our advocacy program
in Washington and we have the responsibility to communicate this
message to our industry.”
