Travel industry giant Carlson Wagonlit Travel has acquired the assets of Viajes MAPFRE from MAPFRE, the number one insurance company in Spain and a leader in non-life insurance in Latin America. Included in the transaction is business travel management, meetings and events and leisure travel activities in Spain. Total sales in Spain are ?60 million. CWT has an option on Latin American operations and will integrate Viajes MAPFRE into its organization.
