CCRA Launches Blocked Hotel Space Program

CCRA Travel Solutions reports the introduction of  “Safety-Net” – a new blocked-space, hotel program exclusively available to professional travel agents through CCRA’s proprietary booking portal, CCRAtravel.com. Through Safety-Net, travel agents can now confirm blocked space at over 60,000 participating hotels worldwide with as little as 24 hours’ notice, while also receiving access to CCRA’s highly competitive net rates.

CCRA notes that the main benefits for travel agents using the Safety-Net blocked space program include the following: 24/7 room allotments at over 60,000 hotels worldwide; same day arrival inventory in many locations; blocked hotel space based on key destination cities that can be confirmed directly online through CCRAtravel.com. Agents also gain the ability for agents to add their own net rate mark-up’s at the time of booking for increased commission opportunities. Additionally, Safety-Net offers passive segment capabilities for Amadeus and Sabre agents.

“Our highly experienced Hotel Team has created a program that allows us to offer blocked space inventory around the globe and across the full spectrum of hotel tiers. We created Safety-Net to provide the travel agent community with a fast and easy solution to confirm blocked hotel space without having to call a help desk or provide several days’ notice prior to making reservations. Additionally, agents can add their own mark-up to our CCRA net rates at the time of booking, maintaining more control over their commissions and ultimately providing their clients with the most competitive hotel rates available on short notice,” said Dic Marxen, CCRA president and CEO.

Added Mai Meyaart, CCRA’s VP and managing director, “What may be even more important than our exceptional inventory of blocked space is the fact that agents can book these reservations directly on our website, CCRAtravel.com. No more calling a toll-free number 96 hours in advance hoping that the hotel still has rooms available in your allotment– agents can now simply visit our CCRA online booking portal and book from available inventory in their destination of choice. The Safety-Net program redefines the value that CCRA brings to both leisure and corporate travel agencies, and modernizes block space access for today’s savvy travel agent.”

Travel agents wishing to take advantage of Safety-Net blocked space must be registered users of CCRAtravel.com and linked to the CCRA rate code in the GDS. Agents and agencies can register free-of-charge, by clicking on the REGISTER button on www.CCRAtravel.com.

There is no transaction fee for Safety-Net bookings, however, bookings require pre-payment and are non-refundable. Safety-Net reservations made on the CCRAtravel.com portal can easily be added as a passive segment to Amadeus and Sabre GDS itineraries. CCRA does not guarantee blocked space at specific hotels. Blocked space availability is based on destination city.  Restrictions, such as non-refundable, pre-payment apply.
