Agents Win More Than Commissions When Booking Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is
teaming up with travel wholesalers this summer in a program that could be
lucrative for travel agents. Dubbed "The Las Vegas Summer Getaway
Giveaway," the contest gives agents the chance to win $30,000 in prizes,
such as Bose wave radios and HD-plasma TVs. Through May 31, travel agents who
sell air or land packages to the
Hyatt Plugs Into Reality TV
Hyatt Resorts is auditioning families for reality TV. The hotel operator is the first in the industry to enter the reality craze with the launch of its "Ultimate Adventure Challenge." Five families will be selected to have their lives taped at three participating Hyatt properties as they partake in outdoor activities, the surrounding culture and dining experiences. Their sagas will then be posted as "webisodes" so that the public can watch and experience what a true Hyatt vacation experience is like. Episodes will be judged, and the highest-rated family will win 50 free nights at any Hyatt property worldwide.

Island Destinations' New Agent Incentive
Island Destinations has expanded its Referral Rewards Program for preferred travel agents. Now, any new agent booking with Island Destinations for the first time will receive a $100 cash bonus for choosing to book with the luxury tour operator. If the new agent was referred by an existing client, the current client will also receive the $100 cash reward. The cash reward will be issued once the client's travel is completed; a three-night minimum is required. The offer is valid now through August 31, 2007, and has no restrictions on the amount of rewards an agent can redeem.
