PATAGONIA, Chile-- Like most destinations in Latin America and around the globe in general, Costa Rica is reporting a decrease in arrivals for 2009. We spoke to representaives of the ICT, Costa Rica’s tourist board, at TravelMart Latin America 2009.
The ICT representaives we spoke to told us the country saw a nearly 10- ercent drop in 2009, but expects to jump back next year. The U.S. continues to be the destination’s main market with nearly 60 percent of overall travel coming from there, which explains why Costa Rica took a minor hit.
