Cruise Planners Names New Marketing Executive

Cruise Planners/American Express has signed on Aidy Alonzo as its senior director of marketing. Alonzo joins the Home Office team with more than 10 years experience in the marketing profession. Alonso has been working for top companies in the travel and cruise industries.

“Aidy impressed us right from the start,” said Vicky Garcia, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Cruise Planners. “Not only did her background in marketing show us the scope of her professional endeavors, but she arrived with acclaimed credentials that displayed her creativity of thinking outside the box. Our home-based agents look to us for support when it comes to successful marketing plans, and I’m confident Aidy will take the lead and bring nothing but success to the team and our agents.”

As senior director of marketing, Alonzo will work closely with Garcia on all marketing strategies for the franchise company including consumer marketing and prospecting new franchise owners through the use of strong marketing solutions and campaigns.

Additionally, one of her main objectives is to market to consumers to keep them coming back to Cruise Planners’ agents for their vacation plans. Alonzo also plans to develop initiatives to provide home-based agents with the right tools to better market themselves to consumers and establish a stronger client base.

“Aidy Alonzo is a marketing professional with an amazing track record in the industry,” said Bob Binder, president of Oceania Cruises. “She masterfully crafts brand messaging and has a unique insight into what agent partners need and what drives consumers to the agents to ultimately purchase a vacation. She is a tremendous asset to Cruise Planners and the travel industry.”

Alonso has served as director of marketing at Oceania Cruises. She developed campaigns for direct mail, consumers and international marketing strategies. Alonzo also held a position as director of onboard revenue management for Prestige Cruise Holdings where she oversaw onboard revenue for the six vessels of Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel Services Representative, is the largest home-based travel agent network in the cruise industry with more than 700 franchise owners across the country that independently book cruises and associated travel.
