Delta Vacations Reports Sales Gain

Delta Vacations is saying “thank you” to travel agents following a record-breaking week— November 10-16, 2008— for leisure travel bookings. The record is based on an analysis of bookings made since July 1, when Travel Impressions took over the management of the Delta Vacations brand.

Over the course of the week, Delta Vacations experienced reservations at a rate 49 percent higher than average, breaking its own record high earlier this summer. The most popular destination booked was Florida. The Caribbean was the number two market, followed by a healthy mix of other regions including Mexico, which has been very strong for the brand, the company said.

“The loyalty of travel agents, coupled with our quality product, offers a positive outlook for Delta Vacations’ future," said Charles M. Gallina, vice president and general manager of Delta Vacations. "Since taking over the management of the brand, the travel agent community has embraced us and we appreciate that support. We work hard to provide agents and their clients with top service levels as well as value-added incentives for booking Delta Vacations packages.”

Travel agents are rewarded for their loyalty to Delta Vacations with a brand-wide booking incentive as well as additional incentives that vary based on region or hotel selected. Currently, the booking incentive provides agents with up to 15 percent commission plus American Express Gift Cheque bonuses up to $75 per air-inclusive booking. Through the Delta Vacations Sensations booking bonus, travel agents will receive American Express Gift Cheques in the amounts of $25 (three to four nights), $50 (five to six nights) and $75 (seven nights or longer).

The booking bonus is valid on new reservations only that include air on Delta Air Lines made now through December 15, for travel through December 15. Redemption forms can be found at www.deltavacations.com/travelagent and there is no limit on the number of trips that can be booked.
