Discover America Daily Getaways Promotion Begins

Las Vegas is one of many destinations that clients can score a Daily Getaway deal to as part of the U.S. Travel Association's newest promotion.

The Discover America Daily Getaways 2011 promotion began on April 11, offering exclusive savings and vacation packages only available at www.dailygetaways.com. Back by popular demand for its second consecutive year, this U.S. Travel Association promotion, sponsored by American Express, offers savings up to 60 percent on almost 30 leading travel destinations and brands and is intended to boost the U.S. travel industry.

Throughout this five-week online promotion, clients can find unprecedented deals on airfare, hotels, car rentals, theme park admissions and city attraction passes until May 13.

A sample of travel partners include Avis, Caesar’s Entertainment, CityPass, Busch Gardens, Fairmont Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Marriott Hotels, United Airlines, Universal, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and more. American Express card members also save 10 percent off all transactions on top of the already discounted deals available.

Any U.S. resident, ages 18 or older, with a major credit card can purchase from this inventory of specially priced travel products.

“According to the latest U.S. Travel Association and Ypartnership TravelHorizons survey, 59 percent of U.S. adults plan to take a trip for leisure purposes between this February and July, up almost 5 percent over the same period in 2010,” said Roger Dow, U.S. Travel Association president and CEO. “The Discover America Daily Getaways promotion ensures [that] the U.S. travel industry benefits from this increase and provides great deals for consumers to stay and play within the U.S. this spring and summer.”

Each day on www.dailygetaways.com, a new exclusive deal from a leading travel brand will be unveiled at 12 p.m. EDT and made available for purchase throughout the promotion period until the inventory is sold-out. Vacation packages from Greater Miami and The Beaches, FL; Las Vegas; Nashville; Orlando; and Philadelphia will also be auctioned weekly. Bids can be placed beginning at 12 p.m. EDT each Monday when a new package is released until bidding is closed that same Friday. Consumers can also register for daily alerts at www.dailygetaways.com or follow deal announcements on Facebook and Twitter (@discoveramerica).
