Ensemble Emphasizes Technology at 2013 Conference

pacific northwestEnsemble Travel Group is set to launch a series of technology initiatives and celebrate the company’s 45th anniversary at the 2013 Ensemble Travel Group International Conference at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs from October 31 – November 4, 2013.

The conference’s theme will be “Soaring to New Heights,” a recognition of the North American cooperative’s recent achievements and a reference to the conference’s backdrop of the Rockies and Pike’s Peak.

“Ensemble is more business-focused than ever before, more visible in our industry, more competitive in our individual communities, and truly the only North American travel cooperative in the industry,” said Lindsay Pearlman, co-president of Ensemble. “As a result, we are the only travel model being included in best-selling author Peter Sheahan's new book that showcases innovative practices across a number of different business lines.”

Sheahan will repeat as the conference’s keynote speaker. “Members and partners couldn’t get enough of Peter in 2011, but this year’s focus is quite different,” said Libbie Rice, co-president of Ensemble. “At The Broadmoor he’ll be sharing much of his sales and customer-service research gleaned from a cross section of our members, their clients, and some Ensemble partners. The take-away for attendees will be a formula for improving their sales performance and a blueprint for elevating their overall value to both their current and future customers.”

Other new features at this year’s conference include:

A Thursday – Monday schedule that will allow attendees to come early or stay late to enjoy the destination, or ease travel for those unable to take a lot of time away from the office.

Experiential Learning Tours, such as rock rappelling and archery.

Supplier-focused “happy hour” trainings on a variety of topics.

A new tradeshow structure with two smaller events aimed at making networking and navigation easier.

A hotel exchange with two tracks that allow Ensemble agencies with multiple members the chance to connect with all participating properties.

A new “Attendee Connect” link on the conference website that allows members and suppliers to email each other before they arrive to set up private appointments. In addition, a new mobile app will make it easier to find and view conference information while on-the-go and to reduce paper clutter.
